Neoclasical Villa at the Lake
About project
A German client appointed Taylor Interiors to create a classic and unique look, which would correspond perfectly with the architecture of this stunning Neoclassical Villa. Yvette Taylor and her team provided an exclusive interior design service, utilising a range of the finest suppliers to ensure this specific, classical style could be met with exquisite attention to detail.
An elegant interior has been achieved, with classic style frieze reliefs and isolated decorative elements, such as plaques. German carpentry company Wastlhuber, produced custom-made doors, wardrobes, cabinets, bookshelves and panelling throughout the property. The hand painted and carved panelling in the formal dining and drawing room is by Busneli Adamo.
Key pieces from the client’s antiques collection were reupholstered and incorporated, including a Yamaha grand piano in black lacquer. The exquisite lighting solutions were selected from renowned companies, primarily Italian, such as De Majo, Murano and Sylcom. Gilded, ornate mirrors and numerous gold and cherry wood wall and long-case clocks take the property back in time.
The colour palette is a complementary range of blue tones, from royal to pastel, with accents of gold. Pastel yellow hues come through the soft furnishings and towels in the poolroom (with its trompe l’oeil mural on walls and ceiling) and the outdoor furniture.
The ivory scheme in the kitchen is complemented with grey marble worktops, while the stylish black and gold oven, by Wolf, makes a striking centrepiece. Pots and pans are displayed traditionally, hanging above the centre island and the hob.
To enhance the impression of light and space on the ground floor, bespoke off-white curtains with a decorative gold trim were selected. Fabrics are predominantly silk and satin throughout, and the upholstery and soft furnishings use Carlucci and Manuel Canovas fabrics to complete the luxurious interior design concept for this stunning property.
