Minimalist Villa - Casa Sol
Awards
About project
Yvette Taylor and her team of interior designers were involved in the early stages of developing an outstanding minimalist villa built exclusively for a couple with grown-ups. Working closely with the construction company and the architect, they created an interior design concept that was designed to complement the contemporary architecture. The clients requested a luxurious space for their holiday retreat, where they could entertain while rejuvenating in maximum comfort.
The result is an exquisite and highly original interior that blends harmoniously with the scenery and ocean views, marrying modern furnishings with the finest natural materials. Across the villa, and a palette of restorative neutral illuminates key rooms, where light pours through the floor-to-ceiling windows. All rooms, including the six bedrooms, have breathtaking sea views. Design features such as the bespoke chandelier in the lobby are designed to further reflect the light. This beautiful creation is made of 148 hand-blown Murano glass elements in six contrasting colours.
Throughout the property, there are blends of textures and finishes, from shimmering velvets and natural woods to 'piedra mallorquina' stone and Portuguese marble. The palette of dove and ivory blends with accents of chrome, marble, and glass, creating a luxurious interior design aesthetic. The formal dining room contrasts with dark, sumptuous tones, accompanied by stunning Fendi accessories, dramatic wall lamps by Visionnaire and black velvet curtains by Carlucci.
Luxury sofa and fabric brands were used for living rooms, from Spanish brand Casa Desus, in white leather or in deluxe velvet upholstery with a snakeskin pattern from Osborne & Little. The central low tables, side tables, and a large design-bookshelf were selected from collections of Desiree and Visionnaire.
The high specification kitchen, which combines modern finishes with traditional craftsmanship, continues outside, allowing for alfresco cooking and entertainment. The exterior spaces have been carefully constructed with furnishings and accessories that blend an ivory and turquoise scheme, repeating the colours of the surrounding seascape. The high-end interior design has succeeded in creating living spaces that are welcoming, comfortable, pampering and harmonious.
